Barabar Sidhnath Temple (Lord Shiva)





Barabar SidhnathTemple is situated in the hilly area of Makhdumpur in Jehanabad District(Bihar) at a distance of 35 kms from Gaya and 75 kms from Patna. Gayais situated on the PhalguRiver. You can easily see river from top of the mountain.
The palace is famous for its ancient Seven Rock cut Buddhist Caves. They were built for the Ajivika sect by Asoka.
It believes that it has connection with Mahabharata,The great warrior of Mahabharata war, Ashwathama is said to be wandering even today in the valleys of Barabar. He had become mortal with the grace at Lord Sidhnath i.e. Lord Shiva, whose temple exists on the top of the highest mountain of Barabar hills.
The place is accessible by Air, Road and Rail as well. The nearest airport is Gaya and Patna.
